The Ring starts off with a very creepy introduction. It sounded like just another urban legend: A videotape filled with nightmarish images, leading to a phone call foretelling the viewer's death in exactly seven days. The "normal" little boy is a creeper too.

The Ring: Take a clever horror movie trope; add one of the best crime thrillers ever made; add some genuine horror scenes; add a 'no escape' ending.
But when the video goes viral, they must find a way to defeat Samara before it's too late.
Having seen both this and the original Japanese version I have to admit to heresy is preferring this; Naomi Watts is excellent. But now with watching so many Blu-rays it looked grainy and almost unwatchable. The Ring. And naomi watts was good in it so was david dorfman. I bought it from here fulfilled by Amazon, as i could'nt wait for it to come from U.S. The director takes you through this familiar but brilliant territory, gives you the satisfactory ending... and then flips it on you.

But "The Ring … The ring is a fantastic film, it's probably the only horror movie that still scares me. After a bit of internet searching I discovered that there are two U.S versions of this film, and that one of them is region free.
