I might read it a fourth time and like it. definately one of Steel's better bookswow .. what a story … got me riveted till the end … WWII Nazi Germany .. a well-off German family that weren't Jew or Nazi followers that had crisis, death, family separation, hardship and the story of a beautiful girl and her hereditary 'ring' that was the piece that brought the puzzle together!
In the interim, I'd read many. I'll have to pick up another one of her books before I can really figure out what I'm missing. The Nazi's would commandeer a home, turn it into a headquarters and brothel, and dispose of its inhabitants. This book was good and it was a lot lighter than what I read in WWII Historical Fiction. The Ring by Danielle Steel had me all in my feelings. the only thing I find is that you tend to know.
