A lot of my films are sat so it's very frustrating. This is why I am hoping that some media player on Xbox can convert DTS …
More info on this would be appreciated. As it's a backward step in my opinion. Thanks for the info, I was just about to buy this TV, but I go after the possibilities before I jump into it then.So thinking about it, is that correct, that even the TV itself is not DTS capable, you can still connect a proper audio device to the One Connect box, and it will be able to decode the signal?I guess this depends on the way the One Connect works. So is it like it send the HMI signal to the TV, depending on the audio settings it send back the signal to the One Connect (via ARC feature), and it is forwarded then to the sound system? If so, is the TV capable of audio pass-through, and it send the untouched DTS back?Or is there any functionality in the One Connect, and it is programmed by the TV, so it can send any audio (including DTS) to the receiver?I have mine connected to a Yamaha RX-A1050 Avr which supports dts. I have tried all sorts of settings to try and resolve the issue to no avail. A lot of my films are sat so it's very frustrating. This is only really an important test if you want to do this exact connection and transfer in your setup. To test for Dolby Atmos via TrueHD passthrough via eARC, we connect a PC to the TV via HDMI and play a Dolby Atmos via TrueHD test file (mkv video) using the MPC-HC media player software, set to bitstream audio. Honestly for me it would be disaster, because although I stream a lot of stuff and watch a lot of physical media ie blu rays/uhd blu rays I still like to download and put stuff on an external hard drive/usb and watch stuff off there and if I do download stuff I try to download in the highest quality possible and with hi res video files you normally tend to get hi res audio so playing the file and getting no audio would be really crappy. IT's a shame because I know the KS did support DTS and would play just about any format you sent it. Still no luck I'm afraid. Any help would be greatly appreciated Is there any particular reason for Samsung dropping the support for dts and DivX ? Das gilt auch für alle Modelle aus dem 2019er TV-Lineup (QLED– und RU-Serie).Die Modelle vor 2018 unterstützen DTS noch. Another reason why I won't be buying a Samsung. Samsung has just updated their developer page stating: Just trying to find the easiest/cheapest workaround for this issue. If I had known the issues I would be having. I know use a shield TV connected to an av receiver which is a way to get round. As it's a backward step in my opinion.I think it is a cost-cutting exercise, so they don't have to pay the DTS royalty.
One of my AV tech colleagues saw your post, and asked us to pass this on: "The Q90 does support Dolby Atmos encoded Dolby Digital Plus signals, and is able to receive them from native apps or by HDMI, and is able to send to a Dolby Atmos capable soundbar via HDMI-ARC. We then output the TV’s audio to our 5.1.2 receiver via HDMI eARC and see whether the receiver receives a DTS:X via DTS-HD MA signal, or if it is downgraded to normal DTS.‘5.1’ is the typical surround sound setup, and involves five (5) ‘regular’ speakers, and one subwoofer (which is the ‘.1’ in '5.1').All six speakers receive and play their unique audio channel, and having five speakers in different places, each playing different sounds, adds a sense of space and direction to the audio that you would not get with stereo setup (2.0).You also benefit from having a dedicated subwoofer, as that provides deeper bass than you would get from regular speakers. In a typical setup, multiple source devices will be connected to the TV via HDMI, a cable which can transmit both video and audio. When I try and play DTS audio film from NAS, it plays video but says audio format not supported. Hi @willzyx!. A lot of my films are sat so it's very frustrating. I then hooked up tv to soundbar via optical and then got DTS 5.1 for cable box on my HT5 soundbar. so that you can compare the results easily. Note that only HDMI can transmit a 5.1 PCM signal.
